What's the difference between the corded electric tillers and cordless tillers?

The corded electric tillers (TE1318W1, TE1216M, TE1318M) plug in for unlimited runtime as long as you're near an outlet. The cordless tillers (CLTE2409, CLTE4814) run on battery power for more mobility around the yard, with the 48V MAX CLTE4814 offering the deepest tilling depth in the collection at 9 inches.

How deep can these tillers till, and is that enough for a new garden bed?

Most models in this collection till to a 9-inch depth, which is generally suitable for preparing a new garden bed. The CLTE2409 tills to a shallower 7-inch depth, better suited for cultivating existing soil or digging small planting holes rather than breaking new ground.

Is a tiller different from a cultivator, or are these the same tool?

In general, a tiller is built for breaking new, harder ground, while a cultivator is lighter duty and meant for maintaining soil that's already been worked.

What happens if the tiller blades hit something hard like a rock or root?
